When you arrive at the Crystal Stix Chat Page:

• The Chat Applet will start Loading. Under Normal Circumstances this should not take more than a minute. However, it could take longer due to network congestion or connection problems.
• After it loads you will see the following Dialog Window on the main page ... Continued Below...

Establish Your Identity:

• Within this Dialog Window are two boxes, Your Name and Your Profile. Enter your Name in the first box and an optional Profile in the second box.
• Your profile can include links to Web pages in the form http://www.address.com and links to e-mail addresses in the form mailto:name@address.com.
• Click the Volano Button to Start the Chat Session.

Getting around in the Crystal Stix Chat Window :

• The largest area is where you see what you and the other people in the room are saying.
• To the right is a list of all the people in the room. Click a person's name Once to see his or her profile in the main window. Double-click a person's name to open a private chat room for the two of you.
• To Chat, Type in the lower area and press the Enter key to send your message to the main chat area. You can see what others are saying in the panel above where you type. You can use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the chat messages you've sent, in case you want to repeat a message or correct something you've already sent. The Esc key clears any text you have typed.
• Click on the banner to go to its referenced Web page.
• If your screen is large enough you may find it helpful to increase the Chat Room Window Size by dragging on the main borders or corners.
• For Help on the Menus Select Help Contents under the Help Menu. Note that this Help may talk about entering different chat rooms. This does not apply here, as there is only one Crystal Stix Chat Room.

ATTENTION!

Closing the Browser window displaying the Crystal Stix Chat Page will Terminate your Chat Session.
Browsing to a new URL from the Chat Page may Terminate your Chat Session.

If you need to Browse elsewhere and maintain your Chat Session open a 2nd Instance of your
Browser. You can also R-Click on the Chat Room button and select "Open in a New Window",
then Browse using your original Browser Window.

Browser Requirements and Additional Help:

• Your Browser must be Java Capable and have Java Enabled.
• Certain errors may require you clear your Browser's Cache.
